Project's focus is on the study of photochemical processes of selected persistent organic pollutants in/on ice. Selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and selected halogenated compounds were chosen as a model group of chemicals, which are members of the group called PBTs - persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic compounds of Protocol on Persistent organic pollutants of the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution and Stochkolm Convention. The main study processes will be the photodegradation of aggregated compounds in ice and on ice surface. The study of processes mentioned above will be performed in laboratory conditions with simulation of various climatic conditions, and in the field. The obtained results will be publishe in scientific journals and will be used for the study of environmental fate of these compounds in global modelling of their distribution. These results will be also used as a part of the participation of CR in EMEP UN/ECE programme and in the participati
