Follow-up Master's degree in full-time form. The language of instruction is Czech.
The programme can be studied only as a single subject.
By studying the follow-up program, students deepen their specialized knowledge in the field of digital cartography and advanced applications of geographic information systems (GIS) and acquire skills in the use of the latest technologies and methods of digital photogrammetry, remote sensing and geopositioning systems and the ability to interpret geographic (spatial) information. Students are also prepared for leading multidisciplinary projects and teams, for independent programming activities and for creating thematic maps in a web environment. Students also have the opportunity to participate in public administration and commercial sector contracts, research projects and to complete part of their studies at a foreign university.
“See the world behind the mirror of the map!”
The curriculum includes a credited recommended elective course Professional Practice in Geography and Cartography in the scope of 10 working days. The student will complete this internship at a selected institution (e.g. TopGIS, Assecco, CleverMaps, etc.).
Graduates will find employment especially in those workplaces where spatial data visualization is used. From the point of view of the labour market, these are mainly specialist cartographer and independent cartographer positions. Namely, these are mainly segments of the labour market including: state and local government offices at municipal, regional and national level; non-state project, advisory and consulting agencies focused on, for example, the creation of strategic plans and services related to the design of effective spatial locations. A significant number of graduates also find employment in the private sector, in the entire cycle of geographic data use, from collection (CEDA, TopGIS), through storage and analysis (CleverMaps, Assecco) to visualization and presentation (EnviroPartner, Hexagon).
This study field is possible to study only in Czech language. Written exam includes special test of geography and cartography on the level of bachelor study.
Applicants will be accepted on the base of their entrance exam. The result of special test is also counted.
