The research activities planned within this project include the preparation and characterization of novel coatings for industrial and medical applications. The experimental work focuses on thin films based on organosilicon and hydrocarbon compounds. One goal of this work is the preparation of transparent organosilicon-based coatings that improve the mechanical resistance and stability of plastic substrates. Another part of my research work includes plasma-polymerization of acetylene and pyrrole. Plasma polymerization of these compounds may lead to conductive carbon coatings with high elasticity that are suitable for flexible electronics. The development of copper-doped amorphous hydrogenated carbon coatings with antibacterial effects is a part of this project as well.
