Vojtěch Langer, whose supervisor was Hugo Semrád at the Department of Chemistry, SCI MUNI, succeeded with his work on ‘Quantum-chemical analysis of dienophiles with halomethyl substituents for the ‘Diels-Alder reaction’. Among the other “young chemists”, Olivia Maya Matyasková from the Gymnasium in Šlapanice took third place, with her work on ‘the Diels-Alder reaction of new benzoquinones’, which she prepared under the supervision of Kamil Paruch, also from the Department of Chemistry, SCI MUNI.
Klára Synková, under the guidance of Ivy Sovadinová from the RECETOX Centre, took third place in the category ‘Protection and creation of the environment’, with her work on ‘Male Reproductive Health and the Substances Around Us’, while Pavlína Mrláková and Sára Honková took second place in the category ‘Agriculture, food industry, forestry and water management’, with their work on ‘The Impact of Lay Adjustments on Pesticide Levels in Fruit’, which they jointly developed under the guidance of Rozárka Jílková of RECETOX.

This year, SCI MUNI were partners in four SOČ categories, 04 - Biology, Geography and Geology; 05 - Molecular Biology; 06 – Healthcare; and 12 - Creation of teaching aids, didactic technology. Together with the other partner institutes, SCI MUNI presented awards to the three best works in each category.
