The periode after the collaps of the Western Roman Empire and decay of ist political structures is of an importance for the further formation of Europe. The proposed project aims a comprehensive insight on the situation in the region north of the Middle Danube, above all in Moravia, within the period in which the substance of European civilisation in its contextual lineaments was slowly born. On the base of present state of archaeological and anthropological research and until now unpublished numerous a rchaeological sources, first of all from inhumation cemeteries, it will be offered the singular oportunity to elucidate the cultural, political and ethnical relations in the region in the period from the 5th until the end of the 6. century, when the Germ anic settlement declined and the Slavonic one began.
