Humans and the Environment
RECETOX, Department of Anthropology
The Faculty of Sciences undertakes integrative and interdisciplinary research on the human species in close union with its biological, social and cultural determinants (Department of Anthropology), as well as comprehensive coverage of the “Exposome” concept of the RECETOX Centre. These areas cover exploration of the interplay between life-history and external factors (e.g. ecosystem quality, chemical exposure, lifestyle, urban environment, stress) with internal determinants (genes) and the internal environment (metabolic factors, gut microflora, inflammation, etc.) that pre-determine human health and wellbeing.
