The Loschmidt laboratories team at RECETOX and Department of Experimental Biology (Masaryk University, Faculty of Science) led by Prof. Zbynek Prokop, together with colleagues from ETH Zurich, recently developed a new microfluidic platform for rapidly and effectively investigating enzymes and their properties.

Census of people, flats and houses 2021

The census is also mandatory for foreigners with a temporary stay in the Czech Republic. All Czech citizens and foreigners who have stayed in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days are obliged to participate in the census.

The MU Faculty of Science is proud of the new holder of the Austrian Nobel Prize

Slovak astrophysicist Norbert Werner, who works at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, has been awarded the Ignaz L. Lieben Prize, also known as the “Austrian Nobel Prize”. The award, given annually by the Austrian Academy of Sciences to young scientists in the field of molecular biology, chemistry or physics, has been awarded to Werner for his contribution to X-ray astronomy.

Scientists have launched the first nanosatellite to detect gamma-ray bursts into space

The first nanosatellite aimed at detecting gamma-ray bursts is now in orbit. Less than 15 hours after the launch, the scientific team, led by astrophysicist Norbert Werner from the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, managed to connect with the satellite for the first time.
